#metoo

The #metoo movement began to spread virally on twitter and other social media sites in October of 2017. This movement was to spread awareness about the sexual assault and sexual harassment.

The most controversial allegations were against the American film producer Harvey Weinstein. The producer had many successful independent movies such as Pulp Fiction, The Crying Game, Flirting with Disaster, Shakespeare in Love and Sex, Lies, and Videotapes. Unfortunately, he is a very twisted man. His allegations are very disgusting; he forced women to massage him and watch him naked then promised to help them advance in their acting careers in return for the sexual favours. A lot of women came forward with the same allegations, including actresses Rose McGowan from Charmed and Scream and Ashley Judd from Divergent and the Dolphin Tale trilogy.
Soon more high-profile actresses post about their experiences with Harvey Weinstein; Gwyneth Paltrow; known for being Pepper Potts in Avengers movies, Uma Thurman; known for Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill series, and Jennifer Lawrence; most of us know her as Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games movies and as Mystique in many of the X-men movies.

There were some backlash for those who were claiming they've been sexually assaulted, because there are those who falsely accuse innocent men for doing horrible things to them. Maybe they're telling the truth but it's hard to tell when the internet is so hard to believe these days. In most cases it's just a "innocent until proven guilty'' scenario. It's very unfortunate for those who really went through those traumatic experiences, not being able to speak out because of those false allegations you never really know who's telling the truth anymore.

I support the #metoo movement, I just wished that there were a lot more honest people so those who've actually got sexually harassed can get justice.
